WILLIAM TREVOR INTERNATIONAL SHORT STORY COMPETITION 2007

The organising committee of the above competition is pleased to announce the result of the
William Trevor Short Story Competition 2007.

The Winner
The winner of the competition, who will receive the Cork County Council Library & Arts Services prize of €2,500.00 and a laptop computer, sponsored by The Mousepad, Mitchelstown is
Alyn Fenn, Schull, Co. Cork.
The title of the winning entry is The Wire Road.

Runner up prizes,
Runner up prizes of €200.00 each, are awarded to the following entrants:

Jo Campbell, London N2 9LR.

Imelda Carroll, Bridgetown, Co. Wexford.

Tanya Farrelly, Clondalkin, Dublin 22.

William Trevor contacted the committee, by letter, in December 2007 indicating that he wished to hand over the judging of this competition to someone else. In keeping with his wishes, the committee was very pleased that Seamus Hosey agreed to replace him as final adjudicator. 

The organising committee of Mitchelstown Literary Society, of which William Trevor is a patron, is pleased to announce that there will be an International Short Story Competition in 2008 which will be known as The Mitchelstown Short Story Prize. Full details will be available on our new website mitchelstownshortstoryprize.com from the end of August 2008.
